 Enlightening Yijing explanation by Master Soon This is Preview (1) of the April 2010 Yijing Workshop in Mumbai. Firstly, you need to know what is Gua 卦 . Etymologically means an object which “is hung” or “suspended ” to be understood metaphysically. In English, we call it as trigram. It means a diagram which consists of 3 lines. The above diagram is showing the yin yang line of each trigram. Now, you need to pay attention to the Yin Yang 阴阳 line of each trigram. The line in Chinese is called as Yao 爻， which means dynamic, changes and mobile. The blue line reprents yin yao 阴爻，and the red line reprents yang yao 阳爻. After recognizing yin yang yao 阴阳爻, now pay attention to the positioning of each yin yang yao at each trigrams. Try to relate this to the table at previous article. The positioning of the yao determine the contents and the meanings + the symbolism and most importantly the logic of each trigrams. In the workshop, it would be fully explained professionally, technically and academically. Threfore, in this article, I share with you the basic symbolism of Yijing / I- Ching 易经. Just try to memorize each trigram attributes and meaning. Make use of this chart and you will be able to memorize the content within 5 minutes.

I could feel the unique Indian hospitality and warmest friendship treatment through my dear friend, Dr. VK. Dr. VK is a soft spoken gentleman. Through him, I can see a highly modern educated Indian man, yet, possesses typical beautiful Indian cultural characteristics. He is humble, honest, responsible, friendly and polite. On the way of the city tour, we came to the esteemed residential house of honorable Lata Mangeshkar. We asked for the permission to pay a visit to her, thinking that to try our luck, however, unfortunately, she was not in. Nevertheless, we do manage to audit her house external feng shui cum topography feng shui. Lata Mangeshkar (Marathi: लता मंगेशकर; born September 28, 1929) is a singer from India. She is one of the best-known playback singers in the Hindi film industry. Mangeshkar’s career started in 1942 and has spanned over six and a half decades. She sang in over a thousand Bollywood movies and has sung songs in over twenty regional Indian languages, but primarily in Hindi. Mangeshkar was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 for having made the most recordings in the world. From my linenage, The Imperial Court Feng Shui, we value 2 factors very much important. Namely, Water Mouth 水口and Qi mouth 气口. Of course, I am referring to the topographical地形 and geographical地势 water mouth and physical cum invisible Qi mouth. Academically, Qi mouth refers to the opening of the house which sucks in the Qi like window, balcony and door. However, to produce an international artist with all rounded talents and furthermore to sustain throughout 6 decades for reputation and worldly gains, an external topographical Qi mouth and water mouth are the most crucial factors. If you are well trained feng shui practitioner, you must be able to identify and tell me the circumstance in the above picture whether is water mouth or Qi mouth?  Master Soon at the Entrance of Lata Mangeshkar The second picture where I stand is the main entrance of the apartment. Do you that think this is the Qi mouth? Yes, it is the Qi mouth to the building. However, it is not the Qi mouth from external feng shui perspective. Regarding the external Qi Mouth， I leave it to the feng shui expert in India to answer!  Master Soon - Frontage of Lata Mangeshkar's house There third picture is the balcony of her unit. I took the picture diagonally. The sitting of the whole building is higher gradually. From The Imperial Court Feng Shui perspective, we value the ground elevation very much.It helps you to zoom down the scope of water mouth and Qi mouth where about. Picture 4 & 5 below are showing you frontage and back support respectively. However, there are the basic concepts of external fengt shui and new learners also know about these. There are no special secret at these two pictures. As from San Yuan Water Dragon 三元水法， Qi mouth is very important. Whereby, from San He Water Dragon 三合水法， water mouth is the determinant. If you look at the below picture, probably you could get some tips of where about or how to determine water mouth and Qi mouth. We examine from various angles, inclusive from the front view. Renaissance Hotel is located and faces Powai lake. It complies to topographical feng shui, basically with White Tiger , Left Dragon and Front Phoenix. However, as a practitioner mindset, we would not stop at 4 celestial land form analysis. We took the location reading (you might be wondering how could we and why did we take directional reading from so far away as showed in the picture) We examined carefully on the water mouth location 水口位 for locality spectrum of San He landform analysis三合峦头. And, we also determined incoming dragon来龙 direction for directional spectrum of San Yuan feng shui 三元measurement.

Immediately, Taj instructed his driver to drive us into the inner city (which I have forgotten) to buy Mumbai Map to verify the land formation of Powai lake and surrounding area. We took a break in a KFC outlet nearby and further discuss about the land formation of the Renaissance Hotel. Again, I had proved that San Yuan and San He must be combined for mega feng shui analysis. Flying Stars is out of my picture (I would said Flying Stars version that available in the market is FAKE feng shui). In conjuction of my next visit to Mumbai in April 2010 for conducting Feng Shui and Yijing workshops trainning, a few articles which talk this coming workshop and about feng shui in this great nation, India, will be posted for your reference. In this article, I am going to discuss about feng shui of Mumbai. Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay is the commercial and financial center of India, with a population of about 14 million. The huge city is growing by many thousand hopeful immigrants from predominantly rural areas each day. Interestingly, Mumbai‘s particular topography – it is a long, narrow peninsula – meant that the constantly needed extension of the city limits was possible in one direction only, northwards.
 SW water mouth of Mumbai Basically, Mumbai is a group of Seven Islands and reclamation joined the seven small islands into one, grafting a prototype for today’s multifarious metropolis. Mumbai was one of the British Presidency towns. Therefore, the buildings here are of British era and built in Gothic style. Mumbai lies on India’s west coast in the state of Maharashtra facing the Arabian Sea. The city occupies an area of 440 sq km. and one fourth of the city lies below sea level. People of various caste, culture, and religion inhabit the city, and due to this diversification the customs, languages, and even the food is of infinite variety. And personally speaking, I love the food very much. The centre of Mumbai is at the southern end of the peninsula, where commercial life developed and population density and land prices are highest. The bay, Queen’s necklace is the dragon opening mouth. Ancient Feng Shui classic has written,
“When Qi meets the wind, it is scattered; when it meets water, it is retained” 气见风者散，遇水则止。 Feng Shui is a technique how to MANAGE the Qi. An experienced Feng Shui Master collects good or auspicious Qi to prevent it from being scattered so that mankind can benefit from its positive effects. The word feng-shui is often translated as “Wind and Water. “Feng” stands for wind, and “shui” for water. The ancient burial classic, “Zangshu,” 葬书 (The Book of Burial) by the writer Guo Pu 郭璞 is said to be the first instance that the term feng-shui occurs. It appeared around 300 AD. What that book stated is that Qi, the precious life energy is destroyed by wind, and collected by water. So the art of feng-shui is about protecting the Qi from dispersal by wind, and saving or storing it by water.
My visit in Sept 09 to Mumbai had brought me the Queen’s necklace. I would like to draw those feng shui enthusiasts, that， do you think the prosperity of Mumbai is connected with South Western Dragon Mouth? If your answer is due to Period 8 and indirector god water, then, you understanding of feng shui is questionable and you command of feng shui is sceptical. How do you relate the booming entertainment industry, Bollywood here? Let me tell you, flying system , bazhai system and xuan kong da gua system are NOT enough to explain these phenomenons.
