Form School in Feng ShuiThe Importance of Xing Shi Feng Shui 形势派风水
Basically, Xing Shi is widely used by feng shui master especially in searching for the real dragonic spot of Yin Feng Shui or to be more accurate, Xing Shi is a method which must be fully commanded by any feng shui practitioner to search for the dragon vein and identify the priceless dragonic spot for auspicious burial ground. So how does Xing Shi work? To answer this question, let me touch on the basic understanding of Xing Shi. Xing Shi mainly refers to mountainous ranges, topographical features, landscape formation and geographical configuration of any certain area. It is a very huge knowledge of Xing Shi framework. As a beginner, let me start with 2 concepts under Xing Shi.
1) Formation Identification Concept (辩 形) Recognizing which direction do the mountain ranges come from? Does it come along with river flow? If so, to which direction does the river flow to? The direction where the mountain comes in called as “In coming Dragon” After you have recognized the In coming dragon, then, identify the form of the surrounding mountain form, shapes and appearance. In this process, we call it as Bian Xing (辩 形) or identify the mountain formation. Categorize the mountain into fire, earth, water, metal or wood elements. 2) Earth Force Classification Concept (察势) The second step is to value and classify the quality, property, condition, attributes and the superiority of the mountainous configuration. The value of the earth force is very subjective and intangible but there are still sets of principles to evaluate the earth force. The perspective of earth force focuses on the life force, energy and vitality of the topographical features. You need a well trained and experience feng shui master to guide you this in the field work. This concept only can be learned through field work repeatedly by exposing yourselves to various types of earth formation. You cannot learn earth force classification by sitting in the classroom alone. However, it does not mean that you could learn this by mountain climbing alone. The bottom line is that you need a true guidance from an experienced practitioner who really has chased the dragon vein often. |
